The restaurant in the valley
On the 1. September of 2011, Haraldur Bóasson and his wife Þóra Fríður Björnsdóttir bought the company called Útibú Ltd. which was previously owned by the company Kjarni inc. The decision was made to stick to the name Dalakofinn, since the place had gone through several name changes over the years and this last one had settled well with the customers.
The building which houses Dalakofinn was built in 1962 as a branch of the local co-op society, which was situated in Húsavík. In that time, the house was first and foremost a grocery store. In 1999 the place was bought by locals, which changed the place to the current form of restaurant/grocery store. Dalakofinn is now run as a family business. We always strive to meet the demands of our customers as best we can. |
Events - Dalasvar, meetings, "Lamb chop nights"....

In Dalakofinn we regularly hold events of many kinds. Over the winter months we hold our very own pub quiz, which we have named Dalasvar, which is usually held every month. We show all the biggest football matches on our giant screen, which we usually advertise in advance on our Facebook page.
We have excellent facilites for hosting meetings in our dining hall, which can fit up to 50 people. We include wireless microphones, sound system and a projector. Everything from big associations to small 3 person committees regularly hold meetings in our hall. Please feel free to contact us for any further information.
Our "Lamb chop nights" have become an instant hit amongst our local customers, where people come together and get served lamb chops, old school style. Lots of butter, caramelized potatoes, red cabbage and peas. The feast is closed with ice cream for dessert.
Feel free to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep yourself up to date.
